Special Thursdays

Good Morning beauties!  Hope everyone is having a grand week!  We are at the brink of the workdays, yay for the weekends!

So... I have been a busy beaver.  Here are just some of my latest projects here at home.  My mother in law had a birthday and I had to make her something super special, since she does so much for us!  On pinterest, I found these cute little cake in a jar things.  Thought they were so cute....and special.  :)  So I made my own in holiday colors.....which turned out kind of mashed up.  But its the thought that counts, right?  I had extra batter so I made some cute little cupcakes too! 

It was a lot of fun playing around with the cake batter and food coloring.!  Pinterest includes all of the instructions, and that is why I love it so!  

So I don't know if you all have checked out my new website lately, but there have some pretty cool things going on.  I wanted to create a union between equine and fine clothing.  So that is why I created Cultured Threads.  My family is a horse breeding family and with the help of my mother, we thought it was the right time to launch.

Age and Beauty

 My grandmother turned 90 today this weekend.  She is such a gem.  Being from New Mexico, she loves turquoise and anything with a spanish influence.  So I made her a hand beaded wrap from an Ikat fabric imported from India.  Although its from India, still had that Spanish flair.  Check it out, along with some beautiful shots of her goofing off.  She has my heart, with all her age and her beauty.

Contemporary Blinds

Holy Moly has it been forever since I have posted a blog!  My apologies!  I have been so busy on the job front as well as at home.  We have just been crazy!  I will try not to make it a habit :)  Anyways happy Tuesday!  I started a new job last week so I have been adjusting and I have a day off during the week now....about every other week.

Should be interesting!  So my latest project at home is finding the right shades for our bedroom.  I wanted to do drapes but after I saw the cutest contemporary shades on .....Homeland......I just had to have them.  

Does anyone watch Homeland?  Totally different subject but so good, you must check out.  Anyways here are the shades, I found them from Ikea.  Super easy on your wallet and also super cute as well!  I like the bamboo ones.  I am a neutral kinda girl when it comes to my home with pops of color of course.  

 The cool thing about these is they overlap each other.  So you can get a few of them and install the track and they slide right on.  I cannot wait!  What do ya'll think?

It is Sunday little sunshines!   Time to unroll your favorite fabrics!!!!

 As I was thumbing through the same old fabrics on the Joanne's website, I discovered the new and fabulous Ikat patterns that are so inspiring.  I am in love with Aztec prints right now.  On the search for a perfect one to matte and surround with a perfect gold embellished frame.  Here are some of my favorites.
